Missing my Chance

May/June 2024 Prompt:: **I want to tell you I love you – I just can’t seem to do it**

This story is Ben’s Internal Monologue from the group cinema trip.

I can’t believe he’s getting with Nick Nelson of all people; he’s supposed to be mine. He didn’t even give us a chance before he cheated on me with him. Charlie and I had something good; we’d been seeing each other for 3 months before that brute split us up.

I’d seen him about before he came out at school and thought he was cute, but when I found he was gay, I had to have him. I had to get these feelings out of my system before my father found out and disowned me.

From the day I approached him in the music room, I fell in love with getting to see his little face every day, and the way he would play hard to get. Every time we kissed his soft lips tasted so sweet, if I hadn’t been so afraid of someone realising what we’d been doing I would have happily kept the taste of him against me there forever. But that was a risk I just couldn’t afford, I had to rub my lips clean in case any hint of him lingering there would set off rumours that I was gay; I wasn’t gay, I couldn’t be gay.

Just because I liked Charlie didn’t make me gay, being with him just made me feel happy. He was so good, so pure, so lovely. I know none of it was perfect, deep down I wanted to be the one to take him to the movies and to hold his hand walking down the corridors at school. He called me his boyfriend once; I was so afraid that he’d want more than I could give, that I snapped at him and insisted we weren’t boyfriends. Why did I do that? If I hadn’t done that, maybe he would still be with me.

No one could ever know about us; I couldn’t even bring myself to explain to him why we had to keep everything secret. I wish I knew how to make him understand how I felt about him, but it just wasn’t possible. If my father ever found out, everything would be over. I’d lose my home, my family, my future.

Seeing him and Nick so close to each other at the cinema, I knew they were together. I felt hurt and angry. It should be me holding his hand in the cinema, me not him. I bet they’d been together for ages. He’d been so protective of Charlie back in the music block when he attacked me, I bet they’d been cheating on me even then.

Maybe if I’d told him how I really felt, told him why it was so important that we keep everything just between us, maybe he would have understood. If I tried to explain now, would he leave Nick and come back to me? Could I win him back?

I have a lot going for me, I’m good looking and a nice guy, I have money behind me too to spoil him and treat him right. I should have spoiled him more; I thought about getting him a Christmas present, even picked out the perfect little chain with a front clasp shaped like drumsticks. If I’d just bought it for him, instead of chickening out, he could have worn it every day and known he was mine. Known how much I wanted to be with him. Nick would have known he was taken and backed off!

Nick’s not even good looking, he looks like a bloody golden retriever. Charlie’s just getting with him to get back at me, he’ll come crawling back when he realises what he’s missing. Will I take him back? Of course I will, but I’ll make him work for it. He can’t just pick me up and drop me whenever he feels like it, he needs to know that his betrayal has consequences. Yes, he’ll be back!

He’s just doing this to make a point, to get me to come out like he did and make some big grand gesture. I won’t be doing that, he doesn’t call the shots here, he must know that. He’s never called the shots in our relationship, and he was happy with that. We must have been happy because we kissed almost every day that we were together. Couples don’t kiss if they aren’t happy.

I’ll dm him, ask him if he’s getting with Nick, make him tell me the truth. Wait, he’s stalked off and his precious Nick hasn’t noticed. No one’s looking my way, they are too distracted by Nick’s little hissy fit, I’ll go after him and ask him directly, make him come clean to my face. I can’t just walk past the other Truham boys though, I’ll have to go the long way around.

I get to the roof and damn it Nicky-boy has beat me to him. I don’t think either of them have seen me, I’m in the shadows and I can’t quite make out what they are saying but it looks like maybe Charlie is sending him away. Yes, he’s going, now’s my chance.

“Charlie,” I call out to him.

“I saw you both in there, are you going out with him?”

“No,” he lied, he was a terrible liar.

“But you are getting with him!”

“No!” he tried to insist.

“Don’t lie! I believe that you’re not going out with him. As if anyone would ever want to go out with someone as desperate as you.”

“You did,” he stammered out.

“Are you joking? You thought I liked you? You were there like some tragic loser with barely any friends, who ate lunch alone and let bullies walk all over you. I never liked you. I’m not even gay! I just felt really sorry for you.” I hoped he believed me, even if I didn’t believe myself. I wish I could have gone out with him, taken him out on a date and treated him like the beautiful prince he is.

Wings of an Angel

August/September 2024 Prompt:: **Unusual Wingman**

This story is Nick going along to a club with Harry to be his wingman.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this, why did I agree to this?” Nick moaned.

“Because you love me?”

“No Harry! It’s because you pulled that puppy dog face at Charlie because and you knew I’d do whatever he wanted,” Nick poked Harry in the chest as they waited in line.

“Come on man, it’ll be fun, two bros together,” Harry said bumping his shoulder against Nick’s.

“But why here?” Nick asked.

“This is where all the cool people go,” Harry smirked before adding, “but I’m sure they’ll let you in anyway.”

Nick turned, “That’s it, I’m leaving!” Harry grabbed Nick’s arm to stop him.

“Please, Nick, don’t go man. I need you,” Harry pleaded.

Huffing out a sigh, Nick reluctantly faced Harry, “Fine! But one more snidey comment from you and I’m going back home to Charlie,” poking him in the chest again to emphasise his point.

Holding his hands up in surrender, Harry agreed, “Sure man, sure. Best behaviour, I promise.”

Nick and Harry hadn’t spent much time together since they’d left Truham, apart from the odd get together of a few of the old rugby lads. Although at times he could still be both annoying and obnoxious, he had mellowed since they were students together. But when Harry had asked him to be his wingman tonight, Nick was shocked.

As the queue inched forward, Harry was bouncing about, fed up of all the standing still. He’d never been good at standing still, always needing to be doing something. Too much energy for his own good.

When they finally reached the bouncer at the front of the queue Harry thought he was going to burst. It took him months to work up the courage to ask Nick to be his wingman, and now he was here he was just itching to get inside. He was vibrating on the spot as the bouncer looked them up and down.

“No druggies allowed, get lost,” the bouncer barked.

“Drugs? Nah man, we don’t touch that shit,” Harry said, trying to be pally with his arm around the bouncer.

Brushing him off, the bouncer stood firm, “You’re shaking a like a leaf kid, you’re clearly high.”

Before Harry had a chance to say anything else, Nick stepped between him and the bouncer. “Sorry about my friend, he’s never been here before and he’s just excited. I promise he’s no trouble.”

The bouncer looked Nick up and down, considering whether he was telling the truth. “Alright, but he better not be,” he said as he let the two men past and into the club.

The bright lights were flashing inside the club as people moved to the beat of the music. Around the floor angels are dancing on podiums. Harry’s eyes dart around the room, taking in the bare flesh on display and the bodies pressed closely against each other.

Touching Harry’s arm, Nick shouts over the music, “Let’s grab a drink!” With a nod, they move to the bar to grab a couple of beers. “So, what do you think?” Nick asked.

“It’s…it’s…wow,” was all Harry managed to say, lost for words, possibly for the first time in his life causing Nick to chuckle.

“Yeah, that’s one word for it.”

Looking around the room, Harry’s gaze fixes on one of the podiums across the dance floor. “Wow, look at that,” Harry gawped at one particular angel that had caught his eye. Nick followed Harry’s eyes to see what had captured his attention.

“Really?” Nick smirked.

“Yeah, why not?”

“I just didn’t know that was your type,” Nick teased, certain he saw a small blush creep across Harry’s face.

“You’re not the only one that likes them lean,” Harry winked.

Nudging his arm, Nick asks, “Well, are you gonna go over there?”

Nerves clear on his face, “Can’t you go for me?”

Laughing Nick replies, “I can’t go for you, man up dude.”

Groaning, Harry whines, “But…what if he doesn’t feel the same way.”

“You’ll never know until you speak to him.”

“But, what do I say?”

“How about starting with Hi. It worked for me,” Nick smiled remembering the first day he met his Charlie.

Finishing off his drink and putting the empty glass down on the bar, Harry takes a deep breathe and starts moving towards the dance floor that he has to cross to get to the podiums. As he gets to the edge of the floor, he chickens out and hurries back to Nick’s side, banging his head down on the top of the bar.

“Is it always this difficult?” Harry asks, his voice muffled by the sticky surface his face is pressed against.

Chuckling to himself, “How would I know? I’ve been with Charlie since school, remember.”

Raising his head, Harry ponders, “I wish I’d known then, you know, maybe it would have been easier.”

“I don’t know about that, it wasn’t always smooth sailing for us.”

Ordering a shot from the barman and downing it quickly, Harry decides if he doesn’t try now, he never will. He makes a determined stride towards the dance floor but its too late, his beautiful angel is no longer up on his heavenly perch. Harry looks around at the other stages and sees all of them are now empty.

If only he hadn’t been such a chicken, it’s just like when he was back at school. After Nick had come out, Harry had thought maybe he could too, safety in numbers, that sort of thing. But every time he tried, he’d get scared and instead say something stupid or worse, homophobic.

Feeling dejected, Harry lowers his gaze to the floor and twists round to head back to Nick. As he does he collides with someone standing right behind him. Looking up to apologise, he’s greeted by a pair of beautiful caramel eyes, delicately spiked hair and a large set of fluffy white angel wings. His taught muscles glistening with sweat from all the dancing.

Speechless again, all Harry can say is, “Hi.”

Withdrawal

September 2024 Prompt:: **The world could be on fire and we wouldn’t know**

This story is set after David and Olly return from their honeymoon.

It was David’s first week back at work after his honeymoon and he was certain he was having withdrawal symptoms from not being around his husband all the time. Husband: he didn’t think he’d ever stop smiling at that word. Knowing that Olly was his to hold, to kiss, to touch whenever he wanted with no one to come between them.

Their honeymoon had been fourteen glorious days of exploring each other’s bodies with nothing to distract them. But now, sitting back behind his boring desk, wearing one of his expensive suits in his stuffy office, he was finding it hard to concentrate on facts and figures. His mind kept drifting to thoughts of dark curly hair and chocolatey eyes. Counting the minutes until he could leave to have Olly in his arms once more.

The buzzing of the intercom brought him back to his dull reality with a start.

“Yes Judy?” David responded, trying not to sound too down.

“There’s a Mr Spring here to see you, he doesn’t have an appointment. Would you like me to send him away?” Judy’s nasal voice came over the speaker.

David tried to hide his excitement when he responded, “No, that’s fine, send him in please.” As the door opened, David added, “No interruptions please Judy.”

“Yes, Mr Nelson.”

“This is a surprise,” David smiled as Olly closed the door behind him.

“I hope this is ok, I was missing you,” Olly blushed.

Getting up from behind his desk, David walked across the room and pulled Olly into his arms. “This is more than ok,” David breathed into the beautiful curls beneath him, “I missed you too.”

When they finally broke apart, Olly had a glimmer of mischief in his eyes that David was all too familiar with. “Olly! What did you do?”

“What makes you think I did something?” Olly chirped, trying to sound like an innocent cherub.

“Because I’m your husband and I know that look, Oliver!”

Smirking, Olly turned towards David’s desk and swiftly dropped his jeans to the ground before leaning forward over the papers in front of him. David now had a perfect view of the two delectable globes that were Oliver Spring’s ass, framed beautifully by the black bands of his jockstrap. Not only that but nestled between those cheeks was the base of what David knew was the largest plug they owned.

David was lost for words. Looking over his shoulder, Olly asked, “See anything that takes your fancy?”

Not caring where they were, David strode forward to be up close to his husband’s sexy frame. He leaned over and started kissing his neck, as he took hold of the base of the plug. As he started to ease it in and out slowly, Olly responded with appreciative moans.

“Ssshh, we have to be quiet baby,” David whispered close to Olly’s ear, reminding them they could be interrupted at any point. When David increased the speed of his movements, Olly bit down on his lip to try and muffle his noises. Seeing Olly struggling to control himself had David rock hard inside his suit trousers.

Sensing they were both ready for more, Olly held out a small sachet of lube that he’d been holding since he dropped his jeans. Practically growling with excitement, David wasted no time in getting his stiff cock out of his fly. Using the packet to lube himself up first, before fully pulling out the plug and adding extra lube inside for good measure.

David knew they had to be quick, anyone could interrupt them at any moment, but he was past the point of caring. He pushed slowly inside, not stopping until he was seated all the way into Olly’s tight heat. They’d had years of getting to know each other’s bodies, he knew Olly could take it but if he didn’t go slow, he knew they’d both be coming within seconds.

Pausing to give them both a chance to relax, David breathed a sigh of relief now they were finally connected once more. Taking his time to build up his movements, as his pace got faster, he could hear the desk creaking beneath them as it shook. He hoped it could take the strain of both Olly’s weight and their exertions; he didn’t know how he’d explain it to maintenance if it collapsed.

As he was getting closer to his orgasm, David could here bells ringing. He was certain they were in his mind like a siren’s call, signalling that he was about to fill his love for the hundredth time. Moaning his name, Olly was close to his own release too. Pounding against his ass as hard as he could, David was chasing his release, knowing that their bodies would cum in sync with each other as they always did.

Just a few more thrusts and David felt Olly’s hole clench around him as he spilled out his release, coating the paperwork laid out below him. Feeling his husband’s climax, drew out his own, as David pumped his seed deep inside Olly, filling him from behind.

Once he was drained, David collapse onto Olly’s back, coming down from the euphoria. But the bells David had thought were in his head earlier, were still there, screaming louder now. Realising a moment too late the cause of the disturbance, the door to his office was thrown open. David’s secretary, Judy, calling as she entered, “Mr Nelson, the fire alar-,” stopping suddenly when she saw her boss still buried deep inside the young man she’d shown in not that long ago.

“Shit! Judy,” David started, carefully pulling his deflating cock out and trying to tuck it away without exposing themselves any more than he already had.

Looking anywhere but the scene in front of her, Judy started stammering out an apology before she turned and fled the room.

Helping ease Olly up off the desk, they took one look at each other and burst out laughing. It wasn’t the first time they’d been caught with their pants down.

Baking Hearts

October 2024 Prompt:: **I love you, but you drive me crazy**

David is introducing his partner to Nick and Charlie.

Charlie woke to the most glorious scents coming from the kitchen, the bed beside him empty and cold. The alarm clock on the bedside table read 06:11.

Instinctively he knew something was up, the only reason Nick would be up and baking this early on a Sunday morning was if he was stressed. Normally they would spend their Sunday mornings lazily kissing and caressing each other’s bodies before they got up around 10 to make breakfast together.

Reluctantly climbing out of bed, Charlie grabbed one of Nick’s jumpers and a pair of joggers to keep him warm before he headed downstairs to see his boyfriend. When he reached the kitchen, it was like a bomb had exploded, coating every surface with flour and cake mix.

There were trays of cupcakes cooling, croissants piled up haphazardly where they’d been brushed off a tray so that it could no doubt be used for baking more.

Trying not to startle him, Charlie hesitantly called out, “Nick?” When the older boy turned, Charlie asked, “What’s going on?”

“Couldn’t sleep,” was all Nick said before turning back to rolling out some pastry on top of an uncluttered piece of their worktop. Charlie approached and placed a delicate hand on Nick’s bicep.

“Nick, it’s not even 7am yet. How long have you been baking?”

Nick shrugged in response. Charlie took hold of his forearms, encouraging him to release the rolling pin he was holding. Guiding him to the dining table at the side of the room, he eased them both down onto the chairs facing each other.

“What’s wrong, my love? You know it’s not normal to turn our kitchen into an explosion of baked goods this early on a Sunday morning.”

“We have guests coming,” Nick replied, hoping that would be enough to satisfy his boyfriend.

But Charlie knew better, “Nope, this is not a normal level of baking for your brother coming over. Spill Nelson!”

“Urgh, I hate that you know me so well.”

“It’s because I love you Nick, you drive me crazy sometimes, but I love you,” Charlie placed a kiss on Nick’s knuckles before continuing. “Are you worried about seeing your brother? I thought you two had patched things up?”

“It’s,” Nick paused, sighing. “It’s not seeing him, it’s the fact he wants to introduce his girlfriend to Me. I’d get it if he wanted me, us, there when he introduced someone new to Mum. But he said he wanted to introduce her to us first, and I just have a bad feeling about it.”

“So you decided that rather than talk to me, your boyfriend, you’d use up all the eggs in Kent and start a new business from our kitchen?”

Nick laughed, “I suppose it is a little crazy, when you put it like that.”

“Look, I don’t know why David doesn’t want Sarah here, but I’m sure it’ll all make sense once he comes over later. Until then, there is no point fretting over the unknown, is there?”

“When did you get so wise?” Nick smiled.

“Years of therapy,” Charlie joked before pulling Nick to his feet, “Come on, let’s get you, and this place, cleaned up.”

👨‍🍳🧁🥐

Once they had gotten both Nick and the kitchen cleaned up, the pair had an early breakfast before David was due at 11. Charlie did his best to distract Nick with kisses at every possible opportunity.

Just after 11 the doorbell rang and Nick jumped from the sofa like someone had lit his trousers on fire.

“Nick, calm down before you have a heart attack will you,” Charlie walked to open the front door while Nick took a few deep breaths.

“Hi Charlie,” David smiled.

“Hi David, on your own?” Charlie asked, confused seeing David on his own on the doorstep.

“Not for long, work was really busy,” David confirmed as he walked inside and took off his coat.

“Oh ok, come on through,” Charlie led David into the living room where Nick was pacing.

“Hi little bro.”

“Hi,” Nick looked at David with one eyebrow raised. Before he could ask why David had turned up alone, the doorbell rang again.

“That’ll be your new girl,” Charlie announced cheerily, heading to the door with the Nelson brothers following behind him.

Opening the door, Charlie was surprised by the new arrival, “Oliver? We weren’t expecting you today?”

“Hello to you too dear brother,” Olly said as he stepped around Charlie and inside.

After greeting Nick he turned to David, “Hi sweetheart, missed you,” he said before standing up on tiptoes to kiss him passionately, causing Charlie and Nick’s jaws to drop open.

“What’s going on?” Nick and Charlie said in unison.

Releasing David’s lips but not letting him go, Olly asked, “You didn’t tell them?”

“I was waiting for you to arrive,” David shrugged.

Rolling his eyes, Olly stepped back from David, held out his arms and with a smile declared, “Surprise!”

“But…you’re straight,” Nick stated, pointing at his brother.

I’m pan actually,” David mocked, remembering the way Nick had ‘come out’ to him all those years ago.

“But…he’s my little brother,” Charlie whined.

“I’m hardly a child!” Olly replied.

“It’s incest!” Charlie protested.

“He’s not my brother,” David said snarkily.

“Hang on a second,” Nick interrupted, “When you found out I was bi, you were a real dick to me and to Charlie.”

“I know,” David said, looking down at the floor. “I’m sorry, my therapist has helped me to see that I was internalising…a lot…back then.”

Nick and Charlie both looked stunned, while Olly just looked up at him with pride in his eyes.

“You went to therapy?” Nick asked.

“Yeah, I was a real dick, but if I wanted to be with my Ollypop, then I needed to be better,” David said, smiling at Olly.

“Ollypop?” Charlie gagged.

“Oh please, you and Nick are far worse,” Olly chipped in.

“How long has this been going on?” Nick asked.

“About a year.”

“A year!” Nick and Charlie shouted in unison.
